BUILDING BRIDGES TOWARDS INCLUSION

Over the past 4 years, Centro San Viator has been participating as promoter in the SAAM project, which is concluding its 4 years of work. Throughout these years, we have been able to conduct a thorough analysis of the training needs in vocational education and training (VET) in the different African countries that are partners in the project. Additionally, during this time, more than 200 students and 100 professionals from VET schools have been able to travel to Europe not only to receive technical training but also to gain real work experience in European companies. Thus, during the months of November and December, 10 students from Malawi received technical training at Centro San Viator in the fields of electricity-electronics and automotive. Subsequently, they undertook a month of internships in companies in the sector, learning about the processes of these companies so they could return to Malawi and share the knowledge acquired. The experience has been a success not only for the students from Malawi but also for the students of Centro San Viator and the collaborating companies, who have been able to get a close look at a reality so different from our own. The GIVE project, for which the Centro San Viator has provided us with the self-management and governance tools necessary to activate deep reflection processes in the school, has helped us in planning and implementing the mobility of young Africans.
