Almost at the end of the project, the international inclusive mobility (under WP6 and the Centro San Viator leadership) was completed.
The first youth mobilities started last March and continued until end of October. Each organisation carried out the mobilities always coordinated by the leader of the work package Centro San Viator and with the support and collaboration of Cometa as project managers.
The mobilities were designed in two-week periods, designed with the main objective of reinforcing the values of diversity, equality, including gender equality, and non-discrimination, as well as promoting social inclusion. This internship experience is designed to immerse participants in an environment that actively upholds these principles, fostering a culture that celebrates diversity and ensures equal opportunities for all. Through meaningful activities and experiences, participants will not only gain practical skills, but will also develop a deep understanding of the importance of these values in creating inclusive and equitable communities.
The students have carried out internships in companies from different sectors, depending on the technical training received in their centres of origin. This is how we have had companies in sectors such as electricity, hospitality, manufacturing, commerce, etc… For further information you can consult the evaluation report of the mobilities where the companies where the students have carried out their internships are listed in detail.
This activity was crucial to develop the competences of the 90 students who have participated: after its implementation, the evaluation results obtained allow us to ensure that the international mobilities of vulnerable young people for work placements in enterprises:
– It improves professional skills as it is an opportunity for students to put the theoretical knowledge they have acquired into real practice.
– It provides training experiences in EU VET schools and EU companies. The programmes were developed according to previous visits and exchanges of teachers from the schools and were validated by both institutions and the COVE_GIVE team. Therefore, they were adjusted as much as possible to the needs and expectations of the students.
– Improves transversal competences: By travelling abroad, students are exposed to new transversal competences that are greatly enhanced in the companies where they have done the internship in Europe: teamwork, multidisciplinary work, communication skills, problem solving in uncertain and unfamiliar environments, and initiative to make the most of the experience.
– Enhancing generic competences: International mobility is an incredible tool for the integral development of young people, not only because of the exposure to new technologies and ways of working, but also because of all the transversal competences that are developed during the experience abroad: autonomy to prepare and live abroad, language and communication skills, independence and open-mindedness, intercultural competences and learning to work in new and unfamiliar environments. This has a decisive impact when it comes to vulnerable young people.
